Biography:

Clinton Storm was an American artist known for his dynamic monotype prints and gestural abstractions. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he earned his BFA from the University of Michigan before developing his practice through collaborations with master printer Garner Tullis in Santa Barbara. Storm’s work is celebrated for its bold color, layered textures, and sense of movement, qualities that align his art with the traditions of contemporary abstraction.

His career included fellowships at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and the Künstlerwerkstadt in Munich, and his prints are held in public collections such as Rockefeller University and the U.S. State Department. While deeply connected to the experimental energy of the late 20th-century printmaking scene, Storm’s roots in Michigan remain central to his artistic identity, shaping an approach that balances formal innovation with expressive force.
