Delbert Michel, American, b. 1938. A 1990s mixed media fiber art collage with Kilim rug components on painted foam board from Michel's 1996 Exhibition at the Muskegon Museum of Art. Signed "Delbert L Michel" lower right. Image 66 1/2 x 22 1/4" high, in artist made frame 68 1/4 x 24" high overall.

Biography:
Born in 1938, Michel received a B.A. (1961) from DePauw University and an M.F.A. (1964) from the University of Iowa, where he studied with Maurcio Lasanski. He joined the faculty at Hope College in 1964 and also served as a visiting artist (1972-1973) at Portsmouth College of Art in England. Michel's abstract works consist of both acrylic paintings on unprimed canvas and silkscreen prints.
