Born in Detroit , Michigan, in 1908, Harold Cohn studied with both Sam Halpert and John Carroll at the Art School of the Detroit Society of Arts and Crafts (DSAC). He taught painting at the Art School of DSAC from 1935 until 1942, and has also taught at the Jewish Community Center in Detroit and at St. Clair Community College.
