Biography:
Ona Hayes was known for clean, simplified "Creative Expressionist" depictions in oil and was a student of Ruth Loring Janes. Her work "Odd Lots" was featured in a Detroit News article reviewing the Wheaton Gallery in Detroit: "'Odd Lots' by the same artist (Ona Hayes) is a bit of topsy-turvy geometry in pleasing shades of olive, lemon yellow, rust and brown. Containers ranging from the homely utilitarian to the beautifully eccentric all have their place in the lively pattern."
